Did you know that a 10% solution of Oxalic Acid is the best chemical for cleaning unvarnished wood?
Assume that you have just bought some lumber that was carelessly transferred or that it rained and rain water reached your lumber before protecting it. Fungus stains and dust or dirt might have found its way to your lumber and sanding would not be adequate. You simply prepare strong commercial oxalic acid solution and apply it to your dirty lumber with a brush while wearing gloves and goggles for protection from accidental splashes. If any of the solution reaches your skin or eyes flush thoroughly with running water.
Your lumber's dirty spots shall disappear permanently.
Sand off any excess of salts or solid acid after it dries.
Wash with commercial alcohol moderately and leave it to dry again.
