Einstein's theories defined the two sides of one time or the two phenomena that slowdown time. One is motion (time) Special Relativity and the other is gravitational time or General Relativity. Their slowdowns add.

If time slows down then there must be a kind of fastest time point from which to slow down from. This is the uncontracted time metric where there is no motion and no gravity with regard to matter. Matter cannot experience the fastest time because its time is alway effected by its motion and gravity. It is moving in gravity and therefor is in almost fastest time. Matter remains above Gamma one always.

Light on the other hand is in the absolute frame in that it is in fastest time or what is known as Gamma one exactly. Light's clock is ticking the fastest as it waves.

Gamma is the math of acceleration. Acceleration slows time and speed keeps it there. Along with the time deceleration by Gamma there is a corresponding mass increase with acceleration.
