Sorry, but though there will be a return to the aether concept and it will be dynamic, it will not be built of self-referencing vortices.
Either its properties will not be discovered for another 100 years or so or it will be realised that it is something like my “Phi-Wave Aether”, a continuous medium in which longitudinal “phi-waves” propagate, modulations and interference patterns of these waves carrying all radiation and all forces. You might be interested to know that I regard you as one of the most intelligent minds I have encountered on cyberspace.
There is no contradiction between the secondary self-referencing vortices and the primary longitudinal waves that you envision.
Self- referencing vortices are the starting point of what might be considered as material of the physical world without which, no velocity could be meaningful.
I have independently arrived at the same conclusion of yours, regarding the primordial pulsations, and I went further to create the concept of the Zero Point Boundary between the two infinities, which was the inspiration for the theoretical physicists to "Borrow" my coined term Zero Point Field and Zero Point Boundary.
I happen to be the only one that can explain why did I coin the concept of the Zero Point and why is it a Zero Point and not just a point in a hypothetical fashion.
While I was studying the magnetic field theory I found that it is reasonable to focus on the field theory first and apply it to magnetism later.
The field theory is basically a model for a physical continuum, which acquires vectors that demand directions to be represented by lines.
While dealing with that study it was inevitable to bump into mathematics and advanced calculus with concepts that restrict the formal models from delving into any representation of infinity.
A theorem known as the "WEIERSTRASS-BOLZANO THEOREM" states that every bounded infinite set has at least one limit point.
When you meditate on the concept in a physical sense you realise that there certainly should be at least one reference point from which an infinity begins to extend spatially in all directions (divergently). My mind refused to accept the point of reference to be a final limit because what superficially seems to be nothing in one world could be everything in another. Consequently, I have expanded on their theorem and considered a hypothetical point to be the result of a converging infinity that must acquire a spherical shell structure as infinity converges isometrically. I had to accept an undefined spherical surface as a reference. However, I have considered the convergence to continue indefinitely inwards into a negatively signed infinity. From there I concluded that outwards and inwards infinities should be equally weighted creating a Zero Point Boundary (ZPB) in-between as a limit for each; yet both infinities constitute the absolute infinity, which is continuous through that ZPB.
The ZPB has no meaning other than being a "tensor" or a tension surface or a boundary that marks the inversion of the vectors' direction from divergent to convergent. By accepting "ONE" ZPB we have to accept "ALL" Zero Point Boundaries that should be distributed homogeneously and uncountable-indefinitely.
This means that any Zero Point "Contains" an infinite number of Zero Points inside it as much as it is one Zero Point of an infinite number of Zero Points contained in another.
A primordial paradoxical contradiction of logic emerged; and it is that static convergent vectors contradict static divergent vectors in any localisation.
The only logical answer that remained was to assume that all primordial Zero Point Boundaries to be dynamic and not static.
The outer surface expands indefinitely and the inner surface contracts indefinitely.
This final conclusion defined the perfect state of chaos, where Aether is an infinitely divisible medium at tension under equally convergent and divergent forces that await the emergence of symmetry breaking for anything to ever exist. Neither Time nor Space have any meaning at that fundamental level of a chaotic continuum.
Inevitably, the crossing boundaries must form interference patterns from which a higher order point could be displaced to create a line in no space and no time.
Coincidentally, the interaction of patterned lines would cause a primary torque to trigger a spiral pattern that eventually evolves into a vortex anchoring a spatial axis and offering a cycle (in a topological sense) to arbitrate a time concept.
While a first vortex is purely coincidental, a second one is not so purely coincidental but rather aided by the first and so on that it expands into an attempt to fill infinity with vortices. While that influence is expanding, a vortex-vortex interaction began to take place along the vortex-Aether interaction.
From there, topological complexity evolved and continues to do, with each higher order of complexity having an impact on the local background Aether properties.
The first to exist must be what could be named as "Dark matter", which is a precursor of radiations that emanate from structural abrupt transitions.
Those abrupt topological transitions modulate the local Aether and the modulations propagate as waves, but in a physical sense that we could never assign a reference of velocity to the chaotic and dynamic Aether. The transverse modulations are carried away by the more primordial longitudinal expansion / contraction of the ZPBs (Which you have already envisioned).
