In the future ten years, bio-engineered crops will be used to produce fuels like ethanol etc. Genetic engineering technologies will produce crops that would grow faster and will be economical as well. So in reality, we will be GROWING gasoline and therefore it will cut back our dependence on oil and the agro sector will benefit all the same.
Problems with this prediction.

The technology has been around for the last 5 years already.
Genetic engineering technologies will produce crops that would grow faster and will be economical as well.
Economic, do you not understand tech fees. The companies that create this stuff will never allow the world to benefit without their huge share of profits.
So in reality, we will be GROWING gasoline and therefore it will cut back our dependence on oil and the agro sector will benefit all the same.
More of the above. Farmers have been growing crops more efficiently, safely than ever before in the past 10 years, I know I am one, yet there has not been one tiny surge in how much money my family has made off of selling those crops. The problem, a glut on the market? No, damn commodity traders take all the profit away from the farmer and put it into speculators pockets. This calls for a renewd GRANGERS UNION.
