With the great advancements in the field of robotics and AI, I think, by the end of this decade, the developed countries will have the technology and the capability to have Robotic Cores in their armies in addition to the human soldiers. These would be used for dangerous missions and will be far more dangerous in close combat than an ordinary GI because of their heightened sensors.
