Have a feel of the back of your running computer or your television and you’ll be reminded of the warmth that escapes from them. It is something we have taken for granted for years. However, that will not be so in the times to come. I think the heat energy, so wasted, these days will be utilized through the method of controlling quantum particles, known as phonons.
One of the devices that utilizes this heat as well as other sources of wasted heat will be what I call a heat lever. Heat energy flowing through one side directly pumps heat through the other.
The thermodynamics are relatively simple. A substantial amount of heatimng and/or cooling can be obtained.
Take a solar panel and a coil burried deep in the ground. As the heat flows it pumps heat into a hot water heater from a refridgerator for example.
The ideel heat lever will have no moving parts.
I have experimented with a vortex tube and actually made a device that acted like a heat lever, It was very inefficient, but a start.
