Materials will be developed which have a significant fraction of their internal structural traveling elastically over linear distances approaching the material''s gross dimensions and at velocities approaching earth''s satellite orbital velocity. When the material is oriented in certain directions it will "appear" weightless.
Aircraft design and space access vehicle design will be greatly influenced.
