At an atomic and a subatomic level, particles are governed by quantum physics. One part of this model of physics is that a particle is not set in one exact place; that there is an uncertainty in its position and momentum. This uncertainty depends on a number called Planck's Constant.



In the future, scientists will create a localised field in which Planck's Constant can be varied. The result of a greater value for the Constant will be a greater uncertainty in momentum, position, time and energy. In turn, this will result in the ability of macroscopic objects to be teleported from one position in space to another, and the teleportation from one position in time to another. Further development of this research will allow for the eventual construction of teleporters and time machines.
