I'm from Italy and my country has its soldier in Iraq. However, this is a government choice, near to everyone in italy don't want soldiers in Iraq.
I'm interesting to know what abaut Americans. Do you feel this is a right war?
And how is it going to evolve for you? US Army will go out from Iraq as soon as it is possible? Or many years will be necessary?

Roberto (excuse for my english)

I had a student that was called to go and serve in Afghanistan. He returned with pride at the victory the US had there. Then we moved into Iraq to stop "Suddam Hussein's reign of terror".

I personally feel that we will be there for quite some time to come. We entered with a clear mission of stopping Suddam. However, now that we have, restoring peace amongst the many factions that exist there will command a great deal of out time. Should we be the commanding force amongst the faction that have been warring since before America existed? Fortunately, that is not a decision I have to make.

In my opinion, I would like to see us start slowly withdrawing our troops from Iraq and moving them back to Afghanistan to finish what we started. My rumors exist as to whether Osama is still alive or not. Rumors exist as to whether his tapes were pre-recorded before his "death" or are recent. Until we have definitive proof of his capture or death, we should focus on that objective above the Iraq War.

And what abaut the impact of the war on the middle east? Do you think we're going to enter in a long-term middle east peace or not?
I think the gains from the war will be less than costs we (ops.. You) paid. I can't see peace is coming but I see many counties in the world don't like USA as some years ago, expecially in Middle East And Iran, Siria and North Korea are dangerus countries.

War in the Middle East...this has been a focal point of human existence since the first days of the Hebrews (ie Isrealites) and even somewhat before.

Most every major power in the world sees the Middle East as the golden chalice. Whether it was Britain/Roman Catholisim wanting to do the Crusades to USA wanting to control the oil. And every major player in history seems to beleive that they are the ones that can bring peace and prosperity to the Middle East (even tho most all of the "major players" didn't even exist as countries when the war broke out).

Speaking of peace in the Middle East from a Biblical sense, it would not behoove any leader of a strong Christian country to achieve peace in the Middle East. According to the Book of Revelations, the one who actually brings peace to the Middle East is the Antichrist and that peace accord will signal the beginning of the seven years of trials and tribulations.

Even if the prophecy of the Bible fell short, there are many, many Christians who hold strong faith in its words. As such, any leader of said Christian country could find him/herself in a PR mess should such information (ie the leader is the Antichrist) be released to the public.

What do you mean by the term Antichrist? Does it mean that, according to the book of Revelations, it is possible that the person who will bring peace to the Middle East will NOT be a Christian? Then he may be a Muslim or Jewish, or any from other religion for that matter?
Can you please clarify? Confused
Thanks for your time.
