America uses up a quarter of the World’s oil production, and (before Iraq War) possessed just 3% reserves of its own . Keeping in mind the shaky state of affairs on the Oil producing countries in the East, it is quite a threat to America’s national, as well as economic security. Therefore, whenever the American Government shows an interest in the OPEC countries it’s pretty clear why they drool all over themselves!
