Yeah, I hope so too. I read a prediction about this on the site, about satellite images that would be able to determine any deformations of the earth’s surface so that such quakes can be predicted beforehand and the damage can be minimized.
We were told in Egypt that the western desert contain Mediterranean seashells as an evidence of a hypothesis that the sea once covered that desert. However, in the light of the current news one may not avoid assuming that ancient Tsunami might have hit the northern shores of Africa throwing those seashells and lots of sand into the great western desert called the Great Sahara.
Ancient tornados might also be responsible because if it can rain cows and frogs then it could rain seashells too.
I wonder how long shall it take before a modern Tsunami hits the northern African shores again! What precautions can any government or individuals take to avoid (since preventing is impossible) such a disastrous fate?
Do you think that shores up to several kilometres all around the globe shall experience a falling land price phenomenon?
Shall there be a new architectural engineering branch dedicated to a new Noah's ark style housing systems to minimise damage caused by tsunami everywhere?
What kind of shelter shall be appropriate within each ark to protect inhabitants when the ark tumbles downhill at the end of a tsunami strike?
Perhaps an underground system that can trap air bubbles would be a much more reliable method that has to be airtight and demands an adequately early warning system to give time to people to go down into them (just like nuclear war shelters).
I do not know what is best, but something must be done to lift off the horror of the possibility of being hit with a 300 meters high water wall. _________________ Hemetis
