There was no original matter singularity at the very begining. If there was its infinite gravity would make it a black hole without any possibility of expansion or inflation.

I believe original matter was created at a finite density by an energy buildup at the Big Bang. In this way the gravity would also remain finite and its expansion/inflation take off.
A mindless lump was not the Creator of the universe.
The real answer to how did the priomordial egg divide is: It wasn't a mass singularity. It took an energy buildup to create the universe.
