I think its a matter oftime really when the US ends up in bigger trouble in Iraq. And American threats to Iran will come to nothing really because they are not pushovers like Iraq that had been under sanctions for years before america decided to bombard the hell out of the country.
I think the trouble starts from the fact that the US can not commit itself to 3 different countries at the same time. Afghanistan and Iraq are enough to tackle. So aggression against Iran is out of the question. and if there is aggression against Iran it is likely to drag in Pakistan and India into war as well, two nuclear states!
What you mentioned is not a pretty situation for America to say the least. but thats what you get when you are the worlds only super power with a crack pot as president!
