With reference to the recent US missile attack on the innocent citizens of Pakistan residing in the Pakistani tribal region of Bajaur Agency, it is clear that the attack was meant to kill Al Qaeda's 2nd-in-command Dr Ayman al-Zawahiri who was to visit the place for a dinner that night. Eighteen people were killed in the attack. The incident was followed by violent processions which were taken out in all the major cities and addressed by noted politicians. America was widely condemned for its unwarranted action. Whatever goodwill it had earned in the hearts of the people of Pakistan for its support for the earthquake victims, went down the drain, in no time at all.

How surprising it is that the attacks were launched on Pakistani soil without any information or knowledge of the Pakistan government? It looks as if the US has no respect for the sovereignty of any country and thinks it can cross the borders of any country at its own sweet will. No consideration was even given to Pakistan's continued support to the US in its war against terror.

If we have a look at the activities going on in this part of the globe, it becomes evident that the US has a certain agenda that it has to complete, come what may! It's getting involved in one way or the other in the internal affairs of various countries. But, one fails to understand why all the problems have started cropping up only with Muslim countries that are being pushed against the wall on one pretext or the other. Some latest examples of the US getting drawn in the affairs of the Muslim countries are:

1. It occupied Afghanistan by invading it after 9/11. One still cannot comprehend as to how Al-Qaeda could plan and launch such massive attacks on a country thousands of miles away, defying the entire intelligence set-up of the United States!

2. It toppled the legitimate government of Iraq on the flimsy suspicion of possessing WMDs which haven't been found till today despite hectic efforts by the UN inspectors for months on end.

3. In Syria, it raised the issue of the killing of the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

4. It has got involved with Iran who is seeking peaceful use of atomic energy. In retaliation, if Iran cuts down it daily production of oil, it would surely create serious problems for many countries during the current winter season and as a result, the oil prices may hit $100 a barrel in the international market!

Now, it's Pakistan whose tribal territory has been attacked in the dead of night. On top of that, the US government is not repentant for its action. Our government should take a serious note of this new turn in the attitude of the US government as it doesn't augur well for the country's future. It should ask the US government in the clearest possible terms as to what it is up to? In response to their reply, it should review its foreign policy with special reference to its support to the US.
