Has anyone any experience with this technology. The air force will be implementing a mind control cockpit by 2010 using biofeedback. I checked out some systems the cheapest was $995 USD. There is an open source project where there are cheaper boards. Supposedly all you need is a signal capture card, electrodes and some software. Theoretically the mic input on a sound card should work since neural signaling is well below 100 HZ. Of course that would be a single channel system but you could always just install more sound cards in you pc. Sensitivity of the sound cards may be a problem. Appreciate any comments or advice. Very Happy

Frank, politics aside, what does the mind control cockpit do?

Sounds interesting. Perhaps you have a link?

Here's a link from the Air Force however the time frame I got was from a Discovery Channel documentary.

The open source project does have schematics and plans for building a six channel EEG. There's even a company in Bulgaria that will assemble the boards for $180 USD including shipping. However I don't know if I can trust this company in Bulgaria, I mean what if the boards don't work, what if I don't get the boards. They take credit cards but I don't think I would want to send them my credit card number. That part of the world is pretty much like the wild west!

I think I'm better off just building the EEG on a breadboard... Confused

The open source EEG project is even working on a 2 channel PC sound card implementation. The sound cards won't reproduce signals below 20 HZ which is where most of the EEG signals are at. The solution the project proposes is frequency modulating a 1000HZ carrier with the neural signalling and demodulating it with software! Hmmm

The breadboard idea is looking better and better.

Is there anything practical you plan to do with
biofeedback Frank?

How would it benifit you?
Just curious.

One you can use it as a mouse for a PC and I'm just plain curious about the technology.

After calibrating your device by looking at the pointer's icon, you can move the icon to another place on the screen by looking there.
