What do you think about biogerontologist Aubrey de Grey ?

A hoax, a genious or just media spotlight addict?

I was first exposed to this subject when I turned 18 by
a friend's mother's book by the name Life Extension.
The two scientists that wrote this book - Dirk Pearson and
Sandy Shaw - were both using nutrition to extend their
lifespans. They were taking mega-dosages of vitamins;
various minerals and hormone precursers for growth
hormone. They took free form amino acids(proteins); both
the essential and nonessenstial in different amounts.

They did little exercise but had athletic body fat.
They were also taking essential fatty acids known
as vitamin F.

I believe as recently as 3 years ago the 8 essential
sugars(simple carbohydrates) or glyconutrients were
discovered. They improve intercellular communication.

Personally I juice and take certain brain and immune
enhancing herbs. I also use spiralina or blue-green
algae as an energizer.

I am doing all that I know to deal with the weaknesses
I have that might shorten my life. I have hyperlipidemia
but my doctor knows me well enough to know I can
control it without drugs. According to him I am one of
the healthiest people he knows.

Regardless of how fast anti-aging develops; and I
believe for certain it will; I will still have done my all
to live better-longer.

Jose about Aubrey de Grey, I do not share his optimism
of the future speed attainable in life extension
developments but I see nothing for sure standing in
its way. So I am willing to listen to the man!

He is a professional talker.

So far the only proven life extender for mice and monkey
is massive calorie restriction.

Eat as much as a turtle eats.
Move as slow as a turtle moves.
Live as long as a turtle lives.
