About 4 years ago I was exposed to the news that
it was possible for many atoms to share the same
quatum ground state. In other words they sit on
top of each other. Many atoms together only have
the size of a single atom. These are called Bose-Einstein
condensates. This is the quantum coherence of
matter waves.

I googled for news on them and found in 2003 that they
broke the record for the lowest temperature with them.

I would really like anyones imput concerning these
Bose Einstein condensates. I would like to know
more about them especially anything new. Question

Flash...Flash.... This is Frankenstein reporting to you from Los Alamos. Scientists have created a non-stoppable weapon, a dooms day weapon. Unfortunately this weapon has accidentally been activated from an experiment go awry. This new weapon uses Bose Einstein condensate material to create small black holes. The amount of matter needed for this weapon is in the order of a few tons. Of course this is small in comparison to what it normally takes to make a black hole but because of the mass density leverage of having so much matter concentrated in a single point a black hole can form. This black hole cannot be stopped the entire world will be devoured in 80 years!

One moment.... one moment...yes I see.... ok. The president is about to make a statement....

Shocked
