| I love the movies (the longer one and its sequel Children of Dune). Of course, if you haven't read the books I don't think it would make much sense, but I think they did a great job for the fans. |

It seems to work more like the replicator, maybe converting energy that is already at the planet or wherever they are transporting to. Otherwise, it would not be quite as instantaneous.
